Phoenix – Dance Convention & Competition 2017

Phoenix is the sixth most populous state and the capital of Arizona. With over two dozen dance studios in Phoenix alone, Hollywood Connection chose Phoenix to hold its’ regional dance convention and competition in this city known as Valley of the Sun.  The event draws not only local studios from Phoenix, but the entire state of Arizona, and studios from California, Nevada, New Mexico and Washington.

 

Hollywood Connection started 14 years ago by Bill Bohl and Kimberly Rhinelander. They believed that passion should be brought back into convention classes and saw the need to educate dancers on the commercial side of the dance industry. They believe in guiding dancers to a successful career in the professional world of dance through dance competitions and conventions.

What makes Hollywood Connection Phoenix such a unique dance competition is not only its’ central location in the southwest of the United States, but it’s diversity in styles of dance. Hollywood Connection will hold its’ convention and dance competition in Phoenix on April 7 to 9th at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix.

Hollywood Connection’s convention is more than a meeting or gathering. It is also dance lessons, business seminars, audition workshop, and an opportunity for dancers to receive awards and scholarships. Ages 7 and up are encouraged to participate in the variety of classes. Competition is stress-free and each routine receives audio critiques from three judges to be used to help improve one’s dance technique and performance.

Broadway Babies

For dancers age 5 and 6, a workshop called Broadway Babies, will be held on Saturday afternoon. This is a great way for the dancers to be introduced to the convention experience and to a varietyof dance styles which may include jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet or lyrical all with a musical theater them. These young dancers will then be able to perform their routines in front of a live audience at the start of the dance competition. At the completion, each dancer will receive a certificate of completion.

Dance and Business Education

Dance competition is not the only event offered in Phoenix. Dance studios around the Phoenix area are invited to connect with like minded studio owners and teacher who share their love of dance and teaching. Seminars were created for dance education, fresh approaches to business practices with guest speakers who specialize in Dance Studio Business Ownership will cover topics such as studio culture, building enrollment and increasing revenue, management policies, social media marketing, recital themes, and more. All registered teachers and their staff are invited to a catered breakfast on Saturday and a catered lunch on Sunday.
