QUESTION & ANSWER from LILAH

Q: If your dance style had a nickname, what would it be and why?
A: My dance style nickname would be “Trailmix” because you get a little bit of everything with my dancing. I like all styles, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemp, lyrical and M&Ms:) I try to infuse my versatility into all of my dancing.

Q: What’s a class, combo, or teacher from Hollywood Connection that changed your perspective on something?
A: Bobby’s class really helped me understand that I could use my jazz style with my ballet technique. I always have so much fun in Bobby’s classes.

Q: What’s your pre-performance ritual or superstition?
A: When I’m nervous, I shake for 8! Right hand for 8 counts, left hand for 8 counts, right foot for 8 counts and left foot for 8 counts. Miss Lily taught me this when I was little to calm my nerves and I’ve used it ever since.

Q: What advice would you give to a younger dancer dreaming of being an Icon one day?
A: Be yourself! Just do you.

Q: Who’s one dancer, artist, or choreographer you’d love to work with someday?
A: I would love to work with Misty Copeland because she’s both an amazing person and dancer.

A: Dance makes me feel at home.

Fun fact: I’m right handed but I’m a lefty for dance!
